Graduation Evaluations

Undergraduate requests for Graduation Evaluations should be submitted four quarters prior to the quarter of intended graduation. Submit requests to the Office of the Registrar (Bldg. 01-Room 222).

An updated evaluation is generated and returned to students two quarters prior to the degree completion date, if the request was received four quarters in advance. In most cases, this will be in the form of an email to the students' Cal Poly email address, alerting them to run their Degree Progress Report. Students being evaluated on a curriculum sheet will receive a PDF attachment to the email. Evaluations may not be updated again until grades are posted for the student's final term.

Students will not be allowed to register for classes beyond the term they have declared as their degree completion term. If degree completion terms change, students need to submit a Change of Degree Completion Date form to the Office of the Registrar (form is also available at the Office of the Registrar forms area). Registration is usually possible within 48 hours after submission of the form.

Requesting a graduation evaluation initiates your eligibility to participate in the Commencement Ceremonies. If you request a graduation date of Winter, Spring or Summer quarter, you are automatically eligible to participate in the Spring (June) Ceremony. If you request a graduation date of Fall quarter, you are eligible to participate in the Fall (December) Ceremony.

Attach applicable forms with your Graduation Evaluation Request, i.e., Tech Elective Statement; Concentration; Advisor Approved Electives; Individual course of study (ICS) ; Emphasis/Minor Statement; Advancement to Candidacy/Formal Study Plan. Your Request for Graduation Evaluation will be returned back to the student if this information is not attached or already on file.
